Michael J. "Mike" Henry, a resident of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and formerly of Revere and Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Monday, May 15, 2023. He was 71 years of age.
Michael was born in Everett on June 29, 1951, a son of the late John W. Henry and Josephine "Franny" Henry. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Michael enlisted into the United States Army on May 19, 1972 and served his country with honor and pride during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on May 13, 1974 with the rank of Specialist-4. He then continued his service as part of the Army Reserves. Michael was a proud member of the Majestic Knights Drum & Bugle Corps of Charlestown. He worked for U.S. Airways for 35 years before his retirement.
Michael is the beloved husband of 34 years to Beverly (Bishop) Henry. He is the devoted father of Michael J. Henry Jr. and his companion Lynsey Gowens. He is the proud Papa of Michael J. Henry III, Ezra Cantin, Chase Gowens and Ethan Gowens.
Michael is the beloved brother of John W. Henry Jr. and his wife Elizabeth Kurkjian, Eileen (Henry) Ward and her husband John and Daniel F. Henry and his wife Linda Leach. He is the proud uncle of Stephanie, Brian, Jake, Brittany, Daniel, Kayla and Connor. He is also survived by his many loving cousins and friends.
There will be a gathering on June 3, 2023 to celebrate Michael at the Brown Jug, 1041 Revere Beach Parkway, Chelsea, Mass. between the hours of 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. All are welcome to attend.
