Maureen A. Belanger, 52

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Maureen A. (Knight) Belanger, age 52, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Brian J. Belanger, to whom she was wed for twenty-eight years.

Born in Boston, MA on February 15, 1971, she was a loving daughter of Catherine T. (Hanlon) Knight of Dedham and the late Edmund G. Knight.

Maureen grew up and was educated in Dedham. She was a 1989 graduate of Dedham High School and continued her education, graduating from Westfield State College. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past twenty-eight years.

A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Maureen also worked at the Foxborough Regional Charter School. A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Maureen’s happiest times were those spent in the presence of her family and friends. She especially enjoyed entertaining, relaxing on Cape Cod beaches and “Sunday Funday” by the pool. Maureen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but the lifelong memories she created will live on in their hearts forever.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her devoted children: Megan Belanger and her fiancé James Cooney of Mansfield, Allison Belanger of Mansfield and Kevin Belanger of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of James Knight and his wife Joanne of Natick, Joseph Knight and his wife Susan of Attleboro, Kathleen Chace and her husband Paul of Mansfield, Susan Sarto and her husband Alan of Franklin, Michael Knight and his wife Linda of Mansfield and her twin sister Eileen Gordon and her husband Steven of Mansfield. She was the sister-in-law of Bea Belanger of Wrentham and Elizabeth Eblan of Plainville. She was the beloved “Auntie Moe” to many nieces and nephews and is also survived by her aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, May 28th from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 29th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.
