Michael S. Palmieri, 73, of New Bedford, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was the husband of Linda (Piekielniak) Palmieri.
Born in Key West, Florida, son of the late Victor and Hilda (Roderiques Da Sa) Palmieri, he grew up on numerous Naval Bases before settling in New Bedford.
Mike loved music and entertaining others. He played in many local bands including Charisma, First Impressions, and with his wife Linda in the musical duo Stardust. Mike loved performing Frank Sinatra songs and earned the nickname "Frank" with his many performances. He worked for AT&T, and several roles at Southcoast Health and finally as a medical courier.
Mike served proudly in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam aboard the U.S.S Enterprise.
Survivors include his wife Linda; his brother and sister-in-law Donna and John Magilton; his nephew Thomas Affonce; his cousins Alan, Barbara, James, John, Kathy, Leslie, and Tina.
He is predeceased by his parents; his siblings, Victor and Louise; and many aunts and uncles.
Mike's visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 11-12 Noon at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. A prayer service will be held at Noon and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Bedford. A celebration of life will also be held later in the summer. All are invited to attend.
