Obituary

CHICOPEE – Carolyn M. (Woodman) Correa, 89, of the Doverbrook Estates in Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, May 21, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Fall River on April 4, 1934, the beloved daughter of the late Walter F. Woodman and Alma (Danis) Senechal. She was raised in Fall River, graduated from Fall River High School and had lived in Springfield for 35 years before moving to Doverbrook in 1995 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a seamstress for many years and was a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church in Springfield. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Joseph Francis Correa who was Called Home on November 21, 1999. They were married on May 30, 1952 in Swansea and were blessed with over 47 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving son and daughter in law, James R. Correa and his wife, Caroline, of Ludlow; her cherished granddaughter, Kari Mongeau and her husband, Ian, of Ludlow; her two cherished great grandchildren, Isaiah and Willow; her dear brother in law, Benedict Correa and his wife, Agnes, of Somerset; and her many dear extended family members and friends. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, Springfield, MA 01104. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Patrick Cemetery, 168 Fuller Road, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. before her Mass. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
