Michael Spring, (52), of Salem, Massachusetts, passed away in his home on May 11th, 2023.
Michael, more commonly known as Mikey, was born to Dorothy and John Spring, on April 2nd, 1971, in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in Dorchester with his cousins who became his brothers along the way. He moved around New England sharing his charismatic and humorist personality allowing him to build a tight-knit community of friends. More recently, he settled down in Salem, MA where he’d listen to local sports teams “the old fashion way” on his radio.
Aside from his love for the Boston Celtics and Red Sox, Mikey was passionate about his career driving students to and from school each day. His positive impact on those students in our community will leave a lasting impression on his family and friends. His laughter and storytelling will be genuinely missed.
Mikey was preceded in death by Dorothy Spring, Robert Spring, and Dorothy and Harold Stapleton. He is survived by: his former spouse Roxanne Beaulieu and their three children Kayla, Laura, and Riley Spring, as well as his former partner Noel Lozada and their son Jonathan Spring, as well as his father and stepmother John and Patricia Spring, his sisters Debbie Byrne and husband Ken Byrne, Lauren Spring and Paula Costa, and husband John Costa, along with his nieces and nephews Chrissy, Nicole, Jeremy, and JJ. He is also survived by his cousin whom he considered a brother Jack Spring, his wife Melissa Spring, and children Jack Dempsey and Robert Frazier Spring, as well as an honorary family member Elrad Tkachenko. He had many friends and family members who will remember him fondly.
Mikey’s family will host a public memorial service on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023 from 5-7 pm at the Casper Funeral Home located in Boston, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Mikey’s name to the Jimmy Fund or the Boston Children’s Hospital.
