SSgt. Richard W. Burnes,25th Marines, 4th Marine Division, 74, of Derry, NH, died Saturday May 20, 2023, in his home, with family by his side. He was born on July 23, 1948 in Methuen, MA, a son of William and Lottie (Huminick) Burnes. Richard was a man of many talents - woodworker, ATV adventurer, fisherman and avid worker for the Republican Committee. He loved his family and country.
He is survived by his wife Christine (Kimball) Burnes; daughter, Megan Burnes; brother, Michael Burnes and his grandson Damien Jean, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. The burial will be Tuesday May 30, 2023 at 11:00am in Ridgewood Cemetery, Salem St, North Andover, MA.
