Obituary

James J. Lucey Jr., of Stoneham, formerly of Malden, May 18th. Loving father of John J. Lucey and his wife Dianne of Tyngsborough, James M. Lucey and his wife Jen of Winchester and Kevin P. Lucey and his wife Nicole of Reading. Grandfather of Cameron, Sophia, Kyle, Jacob, Dylan, Tyler and Ryan. Great grandfather of Logan. Brother of the late Robert and John Lucey. Jim was raised and educated in Malden. He is a graduate of Malden Catholic High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. He worked for the United States Postal Service for several years before retiring and switching careers and becoming a member of the Local 22 Laborer’s Union, retiring after many years of service. Jim was also an avid lobsterman, plying the waters of Boston Harbor and selling his catch to local establishments for several years. He is a life member of the Irish American Association and a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Malden. Gardening was Jim’s passion. He was known for delivering his home grown tomatoes to all of his friends and neighbors on an annual basis. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday May 24th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday May 23rd from 4-7 PM.
