Janet H. (Morris) Woods, a proud lifelong Charlestown resident, entered into eternal life unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital. She was 77 years of age.
Janet was born in Winthrop on July 30, 1945, a daughter of the late Raymond E. Morris and Marion F. "Fran" (Levine) Morris. She grew up in Charlestown where she was also educated. Janet worked as a Bus Driver for the M.B.T.A. for over 20 years and was a retired member of the M.B.T.A. Carmen's Union Local # 589. Family was everything to Janet in her life, and she cherished the moments she spent with each one of her children and always looked forward to the quality moments she was able to share one on one with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Janet is the wife of the late Roger P. "PeeWee" Woods. She is the devoted mother of Michelle Francini, Michael Doherty and his wife Lisa, Noreen Doherty and Danny Doherty and his wife Tina. She is the loving Nana to 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Harriet O'Donnell and her husband Philip, Roberta Freeman, Raymond E. Morris Jr. and his wife Judi, Samuel Morris and his wife Marina and Philip Morris and his wife Carol. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Janet's Funeral on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Her visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 3 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
