Obituary

Brian A. Denegar, age 68, of Chicopee, passed away suddenly at his home on May 11, 2023. He was born in Red Hook, NY, graduated from Red Hook Central in 1972 and spent the last 35 years in Chicopee. He started out life as a farmer and it stayed a piece of his heart forever. He was a hunter and trapper from the time he was young. Everyone that knew Brian also knew he was an avid car buff. His real love was old Impalas, but nothing could compare to Ole Blue, his “67 Bel Air. Everything classic cars made him happy like searching for that “barn find” and going to car shows. Brian was also a top notch painter. He got the nickname “Doc” from his fellow painters because he could fix anything. Brian is survived by his wife, soul mate and best friend, Sheila “Mama”; his daughter, Alicia “Kiddo” from FL, whom he loved dearly and talked to daily. He is also survived by his 2 grandsons, Brody “Sonny Boy” and Kiaan “the Unit”, nieces, Cheri “White Dove”, Ashley and Hailey, nephew Josh and too many friends to mention. Brian proudly served as a United States Marine and forever loved his country. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition.” Service and burial will be private at a later date. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Please direct any contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project. You may visit www.GriseFH for online condolences.
