Lorna Jean (Roissing) Gilmore, 76, died at the Silver Lake Skilled Facility Care Center in Kingston on June 9, 2006. Born in Boston, Lorna graduated from Wareham High School, Class of 1948. Lorna met her late husband, Edwin, in art class while attending Needham High School. They were married for 42 years and raised their four sons while living in Scituate and spent more than 40 years in Marshfield. The family spent years fishing, clamming and boating on the North River. Lorna enjoyed working at Kennedy’s Country Gardens in Scituate for many years through the 70’s helping the public with her love of plants. After Ed’s passing in 1991 painting once again became a passion in Lorna’s later years giving her hours of enjoyment and providing many people with beautiful mementoes. Lorna is survived by her 4 sons; Robert, Andrew, Stuart and Jeffrey and her sisters; Ruth Compton, Helene Gerardo, Bunny Rich and Terry MacBeth and her dear grandchildren; Nicole, Edwin “Ned”, Andrew, Drew, Connor, Danielle and Ryan. She was also the sister of the late Norman Roissing, Bertha Harris and Grace MacMillian. A memorial service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Thursday June 15th at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
