Obituary

Patricia 'Patti' Demeo passed away unexpectedly on Mother's Day, May 14th of 2023. Patti was born in Brighton, MA on July 8, 1939 and was the eldest daughter of Doris (Siedlewicz) and Francis Gannon.

She deeply cherished her family and friends and cultivated lifelong relationships, including the 'Jolly Girls', 'High Hubbers', and 'Buccaneers'. Patti had a passion for traveling with her husband and children throughout the US and abroad. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, baking, walking, playing cards, and going to yard sales.

Patti attended St Columbkille High School in Brighton, MA, where she honed her debating skills and cultivated her compassion for helping others. She earned her BS in nursing from Boston College in 1960 and began her nursing career at Boston City Hospital. In 1961, she married Robert 'Bob' Demeo and after several years in Peabody made Marion, MA her cherished home for over 58 years. She and her family worshiped at St. Rita's parish in Marion. While raising her four children, Patti continued to pursue her passion for nursing, working private duty, at Tabor Academy Infirmary, and as a leader at Bristol Community College Health Services. She was an active member of the community, serving as President of the Sippican Women's Club and participating in several theater productions at the Marion Art Center.

She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 62 years, Bob Demeo, and their four children: Andrea (John) Adriany of San Diego, CA, Martha (James) Turner of Newbury, VT, Kristen Brown of Taunton, MA, and Paul (Michelle) Demeo of Merrimack, NH. She is survived by her four younger siblings: Penny (John) Hoarty of Mirror Lake, NH, Mary (John) Barry of Holbrook, MA, Joseph (Rhonda) Gannon of Newton, MA and Susan (Richard) Thomas of Salt Lake City, Utah, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her memorial visitation will be held at the Saunders-Dwyer Funeral Home, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett on Friday evening May 19th from 4 to 7 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Rita's Parish, 113 Front St in Marion, MA, on Saturday May 20th at 11 AM.
