Obituary

Raymond R. Prud’homme, 87, passed away May 14, 2023 in Manchester with his family by his side following a period of declining health.


He was born in Manchester, NH on November 15, 1935 to Gerard and Aurore (Lafrenière) Prud’homme.
He graduated from Sainte Marie High School, then attended a typographical trade school in Boston. He was a Newspaper Compositor for the New Hampshire Union Leader for 38 years, mostly as a Linotype Operator. He proudly served in the New Hampshire Air National Guard for nine years.
He loved spending time with his family, visiting Florida including Disney World, and enjoyed watching Disney movies and classic television shows. He was quick to tell a witty joke and enjoyed bringing smiles to his family and friends. During retirement, Ray continued searching for misspellings in anything that he read as a fun pastime and personal challenge to keep his mind sharp.
He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of the Parish of the Transfiguration and previously St. Edmund Parish.
He held memberships in the Legion of One Thousand Men of the Sisters of the Precious Blood, Knights of Columbus, and Catholic War Veterans.
Family members include his loving wife of 63 years, Lucille (Bournival) Prud’homme; sons, Richard Prud’homme and his wife Linda of Goffstown, Robert Prud’homme and his significant other, Kristine Sullivan, of Bedford; daughter, Denise Bolton and her husband Philip of O’Fallon, IL.; son-in-law, Paul Arnold, of Bedford. He was predeceased by his loving daughter, Colette Arnold, in 2019.
He also leaves eleven grandchildren; Kristin Maloney and her husband, Timothy, Marissa Prud’homme, Emily Prud’homme, and her fiancé, Nicholas, Caroline Prud’homme, Jason Prud’homme, John Prud’homme, Jessica Prud’homme, Grant Arnold, Nolan Arnold, Jakob Bolton, Kali Bolton; one brother, Roland Prud’homme (late wife Lillian (Pelchat) Prud’homme); one sister, Claire Desrochers and her husband, Robert, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford, NH on May 19, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
A mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 11:30 am in the church.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hillsborough County Nursing Home Activity Fund, 400 Mast Rd., Goffstown, NH 03045, where his wife resides.
