Obituary

Libert L. Sousa, 92, of Pinardville, died June 11, 2006 at the Catholic Medical Center after a short illness.

He was born in Manchester on October 29, 1913, the son of John R. and Mary (Moniz) Sousa. He was educated in the local school system and was a WWII US Army Air Corps veteran.

Prior to retirement in 1975, he had been employed by Therrien Roofing for many years.

Mr. Sousa was past president and current active member of the Pinardville Lions Club. He served as a Pinardville Volunteer Fire Fighter from 1956 to 1978, and was Fire Warden from 1962 to 1978. He was a member of the Goffstown D. A. Taggart, the Catholic War Veterans, and the American Legion.

He loved playing golf and traveling with his wife. He was a devoted family man who was very proud of his grandsons and loved giving “high fives” to his great-grandchildren.

Members of his family include his wife of over 64 years, Lorette (Morin) Sousa of Pinardville; a son and daughter-in-law, Thom and Louise Sousa of Goffstown; two grandsons, Justin and Eric Sousa of Goffstown; two great-grandchildren, Kasey and Julia Sousa of Goffstown; five brothers, Eloy “Jack” Sousa of LeMesa, CA, John Sousa of Manchester, Dan Sousa of Millsboro, DE, Sidney Sousa of Goffstown, and Leonard Sousa of Manchester; a sister, Bernadette Montgomery of Apple Valley, CA; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday June 14, 2006 in Sacred Heart Church. Encryptment followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.
