Marjorie L. (Bradford) Whittles, 91, died Saturday June 10th in the South Shore Rehabilitation Skilled Care Center, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Clinton Whittles.
Born in Abington, daughter of the late Joseph H. and Ethel (West) Bradford.
Marjorie lived in Abington, a graduate of Abington High; Class of 1933.She also lived in Hanson, East Bridgewater Halifax Whitman and Lincoln R.I. She spent many winters in Zephyrhills + Ridge Manor, Florida.
She worked at J.J. Newbury’s, W. T. Grant Co, New England Art and rips. She became a Licensed Practical nurse and worked for Plymouth County Hospital in Hanson and Norfolk County Hospital in Braintree, retiring in 1977.
A member of the State County +Municipal Retirement Association, also “Pine Cones” at Pine Circle and Senior Citizen’s Club of Whitman.
Enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and the Red Sox’s for many years she was a ballroom and line dancer.
She was a 10th generation, direct descendent of Governor William Bradford of Plymouth
She is survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren Raymond J. Lirosi, III and his wife Kerrie of Halifax, Laurie Campbell and her husband David of Whitman, Christopher B. Lirosi and his wife Robin of Whitman; also 6 great grandchildren, Raymond J. Lirosi IV, Kathleen Lirosi, Mark Consiglio, Ashley Campbell, Vincenzo and Giovanni Lirosi. She was also the mother of the late SGT Raymond J. Lirosi and his wife Helen of Whitman.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday June 13th 2:00 P.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street Rt.58 (at the rotary circle), Whitman, Ma. Visiting hours Tuesday June 13th 12:00-2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman, MA. Donations may be made to the Hospice Services of MA., 577 Main Street, Wareham, MA. 02571
