Obituary

Edman MacCallum Remsen a lifelong resident of Needham and Deer Isle Maine died on Sunday June 11th at Avery Manor in Needham. He was 91 years old. Mr. Remsen grew up in Needham, attended Needham public school and was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1934. He was a U.S. Army, World War II Veteran,DAV. Mr. Remsen served as a Staff Sergeant in Company C 15th Armored Division under both Generals Bradley and Patton. He was severely injured in the Battle of the Bulge and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantry Badge. Mr. Remsen worked for the Needham Housing Authority as the Director of Maintenance. He retired in 1978 after 25 years of service. Edman was the beloved husband of 64 years to Lucille M. (Allen) and the loving father of Lance M. Remsen and his wife Mary Jean of Needham. Brother of Buelah R. Green of Needham and the late Lloyd S. Remsen. Grandfather of Christopher H. Remsen of Brighton and Rebecca S. Remsen of Needham. Funeral services at the First Baptist Church Chapel 858 Great Plain Ave Needham on Thursday June 15th at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Wed 5-7 PM. Interment with Military Honor will take place at Needham Cemetery.
