Obituary

WEBSTER – Norma A. (Rybacki) Giroux, 90, died Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in Southbridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with family at her side. Her husband of 57 years, George E. Giroux, died in 2015.

She leaves 2 sons, Jay E. Giroux and his wife Sandra of Dudley, and Kevin E. Giroux of Webster; 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Karlee, Erin, Jake and Sam Giroux; 4 great-grandchildren, Hayley, Cody, Autumn and Oliver; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Harold, Ernest, Lawrence, Thomas, Richard, and Raymond Rybacki and by her sister Genevieve Levitre.

She was born on September 8, 1932 in Webster, a daughter of Stanley and Clara (Massicotte) Rybacki and lived here all her life.

She was a homemaker. She loved polka dancing and visits to Foxwoods Casino with her husband and with her son Kevin.

The family would like to thank the kind and friendly staff at Southbridge Rehab for their care of Norma during her stay there.

Mrs. Giroux donated her body to Harvard Medical School in Boston for anatomical research. There are no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street.
