Browns Mills, NJ_ Dennis P. Hasanowicz , 73, of Browns Mills died on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA after a brief illness. He is survived by his brother James Hasanowicz and his wife Christine of Worcester, MA; two nieces Amy Glavin, her husband Anthony and Carrie Desrosiers both of Worcester, several cousins, and many friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Carol Desrosiers in 2016. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Sam and Anastasia (Krencisz) Hasanowicz.
Dennis worked for many years as a civilian for the National Guard and the U.S. Army, Department of Defense and retired in 2016. Dennis was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and continued his education at Seton Hall University. He had been a longtime member of St. Ann’s Church in Browns Mills.
Dennis loved to reminisce and tell stories of his younger years of umpiring little league, working at Nissen Baking Co. and all the mischief he got into as a teen. Dennis took pride in always being on time and regularly provided blood donation to the Red Cross. Dennis enjoyed daily visits to 7-Eleven for his lottery and scratch tickets, phone calls with friends from around the globe, stumping us all with his riddles, watching his favorite tv shows, sports (but strongly disliked the Eagles), singing, cigars, and his visits to Massachusetts to see his family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dennis’s neighbors and friends who kept an eye on him throughout the years.
A memorial calling hour will be on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 9am -10am in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester, Ma 01610. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:
