Alice (Pereira) Pamplona, 97, of New Bedford passed away Saturday May 6, 2023 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Alfred Pamplona.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Gouveia) Pereira, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Alice was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and was very devoted to the Virgin Mary.
Alice enjoyed ballroom dancing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Pamplona and his wife Gloria, Donna Pamplona, Brenda Bessette and her companion Warren Lamb, Paul Pamplona, and Alfred Pamplona and his companion Nancy Santos; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Emily Pamplona, and four brothers, Louie, Manuel, Frank, and Mousey.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday May 11th at 9 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visitation will be on Thursday morning from 7:30-8:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
