Fall River – Barbara A. Afonso, Age 72, Passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side. Barbara was born in Acushnet, MA to the late John A. Lopes and Grace (Barros) Lopes. She had worked and retired as an operations specialist with the Bank Of Chicago
Barbara loved cooking. She was well known for her jag and canja. She loved listening to music and seeing live bands, travelling, shopping, and most importantly spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by her son Marquis J. L. Afonso; her siblings Antone Lopes, Lisa Lopes, Dwayne Lopes, and Paul Lopes; her Godchildren Michael Lopes and Jakia Lopes; as well as many well-loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Barbara was predeceased by her sister Rosanna Lopes and her brother John A. Lopes.
Barbara’s visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00PM to 8:00 PM with services to be held during this time. Cremation will follow.
