Obituary


Holden: Patricia (Field) Orsi-Jacobson, 98, died on May 4, 2023 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center in the presence of her children Velma O'Connell and Jon and Glen Orsi.

She was born in Northampton, MA on September 20, 1924. Her parents C.W. Field and Mary Miller Field moved to Worcester where she attended North High School on Salisbury St. and wrote the words to her class graduation song. She worked before marriage to Ernest A. Orsi, Jr. in the classified advertisement department of the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, the Old State Mutual Insurance dividend department and as a teller at the old Guaranty Bank. She was a pianist for ballet classes and during WWII played at a club in Sutton on the weekend.

She had been a member of the Lakeview Congregational Church choir, the Worcester Messiah Chorus and the Westboro Women's Chorus, where her children attended school. From 1970 to 1973 she was a volunteer treasurer at a day care. She published a book by Pearl Press in England at age 85 titled "Township Papers".

She was predeceased by her first husband and her beloved husband John T. Jacobson, Sr. She leaves daughters Velma O'Connell and her husband Fran of Leicester and Leanne Rossi and her husband Richard; and sons- Jon D. Orsi, Glen A. Orsi, Neal and Channing. She also leaves the O'Connell children Cristy Fox and her companion Mark F., Jody Epstein and companion Tim Coghlin and Andrew; stepson J. T. Jacobson, Jr. and Reva of Texas. Also great grandchildren Lillian Fox, Kyle Fox and Isabelle Epstein and some extended family and friends, namely all the Millers of Princeton, Westminster, MA, and the Berkshires.

Her body has been donated to medical research. Her Christian memorial service will be conducted by Fr. Tim Brewer on Saturday May 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lakeview Congregational Church or one's favorite Christian charity.
