In 1967, they moved to Lynnfield to raise their family. Joe and Joanne purchased a vacation home in Wareham in 1977 so they could spend more time at the beach and bike along the Cape Cod Canal. In 1990, Joanne and Joe lived in Cambridge, UK for a year and enjoyed traveling throughout Europe when Joe wasn’t working. They took many cruises and especially enjoyed returning to Bermuda where they had honeymooned. In 2005, they moved to a retirement neighborhood in Salem, NH. Joanne moved to The Woods at Merrimack in Methuen in 2021 where she made many wonderful new friends.

She was an avid bridge player and in her younger years, loved bowling, playing tennis, skiing, and bike riding.

She was the loving mother of Paula Bross and her fiancé Patrick Scrima of North Reading, Jill Godett and her husband Thomas of Newburyport, and Michael Colantuone and his wife Shawna of Salem, NH. Joanne was the youngest of nine children and leaves behind her dear brother David Manning and his wife Carol of Revere.
