Ernest Souza, 94, resident of Our Lady’s Haven, Fairhaven, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2023. He was born in Fall River, son of the late Manuel and Anna (Martin) Souza and lived in Fairhaven for most of his life. He was the husband of the late Sophie “Sue” (Calvano) Souza and the late Joyce Ann Gregson-Souza.
Ernest served in the US Air Force and is a veteran of the Korean conflict. He became a civilian employee at Otis AFB. He was a member of Gideon International, Calvary Pentecostal Church and the Christian Fellowship Center. The center of his life was his walk with God and family. He loved to travel, swim, body surf, play racquetball and water volleyball, and dance.
He is survived by his son Gerald Bonas and wife Geri; grandchildren Gerald David Bonas; Kerri Anne Bonas; and great grandchild Taylor Nicole Stande; step-children, Gregory Wood, Jeffrey Demers, and JoAnn Demers; step-grandchildren, Mason Wood, Victoria Wood, and Aaron Demers along with several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his son, Michael Souza.

A private burial service will be under the direction of Wilson Chapel.
