Obituary

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father Albert Anthony “Al” Alfaro, Sr. of Montrose, NY. He passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2023, at New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY. Born in Brooklyn, NY on October 6, 1929, he was the son of the late Victor Alfaro and Carmen Hernandez. He was predeceased in death by his beloved wife, Oria Lis Alfaro (Claudio) in 2003.
Albert is survived by his five adoring children; Judy Ann Alfaro Diaz and husband David Diaz; Albert Alfaro Jr. and wife Maria Alfaro; Nancy Alfaro and partner Tanya Santos; Susan Alfaro; as well as Lisa Seda and husband Julio Seda. His surviving siblings are Emma Marie Liquie and Delores Perez. He truly delighted in his grandchildren Heriberto Garcia, Venus Stair, Tommy John Garcia, Kristina Valdez, Anthony Alfaro, Justin Alfaro, Maria Alfaro, Americo Imperatore, Mary Scarpone, Julio Seda Jr., Christopher Seda, Lynn Seda, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Albert honorably served in the US Navy for 2 years. He was the first male nurse at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY. He was an exceptional Operating Room Nurse with over 50 years of faithful service. He was a devoted NY Mets baseball fan and was often found listening to a game. He also loved music and enjoyed fishing in his free time.
Albert will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.
Funeral Mass St. Augustine Church, Ossining on May 2, 2023 at 10am. Interment following at Trinity Cemetery, Manhattan. Arrangements by John G. Crawford Memorial Services, LLC.
