CHICOPEE – Tammie Jean (Abbott) Garcia, 55, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, April 24, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on October 5, 1967, a beloved daughter of the late Thomas L. Abbott Sr. and Enola G. (Turgeon) Abbott. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School, and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years at Holyoke Medical Center. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Heriberto Garcia and her beloved infant daughter, Julia Marie Garcia. She leaves her dear companion, Francis Glennon III; her three loving sons, Christopher Abbott-Garcia and his partner, Victoria, Matthew Garcia, and Michael Garcia; her four cherished grandchildren, Briella, Dakota, Mackenzie, and Riley; her two dear sisters, Kathie Starke and her partner, David Danek, and Laura Abbott-Gallacher and her husband, Glen; her dear brother, Thomas Abbott Jr. and his wife, Jaime; her dear brother in law, Howard Starke; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members. Her family will receive friends on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
