Obituary

Salvador (Sal) Torres, Jr. was born to Salvador and Antonia Torres June 3, 1952 in San Juan, Texas. He gained his wings and joined the Heavenly Father April 15, 2023 at Kadlec Hospital in Richland, Washington.
Sal grew up in the Outlook/Sunnyside area graduating from Sunnyside High School in 1970. He attended YVCC in Yakima, Washington before enlisting in the Marines. He was honorably discharged in 1978 returning to the Yakima Valley where he worked with bees before starting his pump service career with Bleyhl’s and Valley Pipe. Sal started his own business as “Sal’s Pump & Electrical Service” in 1992 up until his death.
Sal was a devout husband, brother, father, and grandfather; and friend to many. He was a hero to our community with the service he provided.
Sal married Dianne June 8, 1991. Together they built a home where family and friends were always welcomed.
Sal is survived by his wife and soul mate, Dianne Torres; daughters Angela (Nathan) Rounsley, Tina (Eric Nelson) Reyes; Jenni (Kevin) McClure; brother Ben Torres; sisters Elvia Zellmer, Linda (Esteban) Maldonado, Alice (Jose Rojas) Torres, Rosemary (Ruben) Reyes; grandchildren Nikayla McClure,
JJ Reyes, Kory McClure, Koby McClure, and Ty Rounsley, sister-in-law Susan Rodgers, brothers-in-law
David (Mary Ellen) Rodgers and Marty (Beth) Rodgers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sal is preceded in death by parents Salvador and Antonia Torres; father-in-law Don Rodgers; and brother-in-law Dave Zellmer.
Celebration of Life will be open to the public Thursday, April 27, 2023 beginning at 4pm at Remnant House located on 5305 Hicks Road in Grandview, Washington.
