Obituary

Claire M. McGaugh (Pion) of Stoughton passed away on April 24th, 2023. Born in and raised in North Grafton, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert F. and Mary L. Pion (Desmarais). Claire was raised in North Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School and lived in Mattapan for 44 years before moving to Stoughton in 1994. She worked as a Clerk at Bradlee’s Department Store before retiring in 1990. She was a longtime member of St. Angela’s Church in Mattapan and the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and in her free time Claire also enjoyed bowling with other Stoughton Seniors every Monday.
Beloved wife of the late Edward P. McGaugh. Mother of Reverend Philip E. McGaugh, Pastor St. Mary’s Church, Randolph, , Rita M. Mobilia and her husband Joseph of CA, Diane D. Norris and her husband Paul of Quincy, and Donna I. Hoadley and her husband Alan of Stoughton. Sister of Victor A. Pion of Worcester, Alice R. Vandal of Webster, Irene L. Mayo of Rochdale, and the late Leona A. Mayo, Doris E. Mayo, Leo F. Pion. Also survived by 6 grandchildren
Visiting hours will be held at Dockray and Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday April 27th from 4-7. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s in Randolph Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
