Ruby T. Smith, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, June 9, 2006 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 PM, Sunday, June 11, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Stone and Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9, Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born May 17, 1917, in Moultrie, Georgia to the late Herschal Lee and Mary Cobb Thompson. She lived in Fitzgerald most of her life. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker, former employee of Custom Sportswear, Hail Drug Store, Jack Stewart, the Monarch Company, McClellands 5 & 10 and a former Nurse’s Aide. She was a member of Pine Level United Methodist Church and attended Arbor Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband: Hugh Smith of Fitzgerald; son: David O. Ewing of Fitzgerald; granddaughter and husband: Delaine & Ruel Joyner of Savannah and granddaughter: Sherry Lynn Paulk of Ocilla; great grandchildren: Ruby Rider Joyner and Blake Paulk.
