Janet C. Lessard, wife of Roland B. Lessard and daughter of Emile and Jane (Pelletier) Dionne, passed away on Monday, April 17th, 2023. She was married to Roland for 66 years.
Janet graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Beverly, Class of 1953. She was a teacher’s aide at Salem High School for many years. She later returned to the telephone company and retired from NYNEX after 22 years of service.
Janet and Roland spent many winters between Florida and Nevada. She liked Las Vegas best of all! Janet also loved to play the piano and entertained family and friends at holidays and parties.
In addition to her husband Roland, she is survived by her children: Lorinda Redel, Donna Christoforou and husband Peter, Scott Lessard and wife Kim, Ronald Lessard and wife Lisa, her grandchildren, Brad, Chad, Cayley, Andrew, Jenna and Nicole and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Bruce Lessard and sister, Claire Di Troia.
Her family wishes to thank Beth Israel Lahey Health Hospice for all of their support and guidance throughout Janet’s illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11:30 AM. Burial, at a later date, will be private.
