W. Paul Leahy of East Falmouth died Tuesday, April 11, 2023 after losing his years long battle with addiction, he was 67. Paul was predeceased by his parents Walter P. and Catherine A. Leahy in 2009 and 2006 respectively.
Paul was born February 14, 1956 in Cambridge, MA. In 1962 his family relocated to North Falmouth where he attended Falmouth Public Schools and graduated from Falmouth High School, Class of 1974. While in high school Paul was a member of the football team as well as the track team.
Paul belonged to The Falmouth Track Club for many years where he served as President in the mid 1980’s. He began running the Falmouth Road Race in his teens and continued to run the race for many years thereafter, he was a volunteer for the road race as well. Paul also donated his time behind the scenes at the Cape Cod Marathon and developed lifelong friendships with many from these groups who shared his love of running.
He worked for several grocery stores in and around Falmouth through the years.
Paul is survived by his sister Kathleen (Leahy) Costa Flynn of East Falmouth, several cousins and many friends and mentors who treated him like members of their families. Thank you to those who were there for Paul along the way offering their love & support.
There will be no services. Burial will be private.
