Judy P. Hutchinson (Gavin) 84, of Canton passed away on April 12, 2023.
Born in Moycullen, County Galway, Ireland, Judy came to the United States at a young age, first residing in Brighton and Dedham before settling in Canton for over 50 years.
Beloved wife of the late John Hutchinson, Sr. for 49 years. Predeceased by her sister Winifred “Teresa” (Gavin) Tierney and brother, Michael Gavin.
Loving mother to John Hutchinson, Jr. and his wife Nina and Jennifer Hutchinson, all of Canton. Survived by her sisters, Maura Hurley of West Roxbury and Margaret Barrett of Milton. Judy was also loved by many nieces and nephews.
Judy was a devout Catholic and avid animal lover. She spent much of the past decade with Duke, her loyal chocolate lab, by her side. She also enjoyed taking trips to Florida and spending time in the sun. Judy adored her children and considered them her greatest life achievement. She will be remembered for her warm, loving nature and easy-going personality.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Copley Skilled Nursing for the loving care they provided Judy.
Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday April 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Oscar Romero Church Canton Thursday morning April 20th at 10:00. Burial VA National Cemetery, Bourne Thursday at 12:30 pm.
