Obituary

Edward J. "Eddie Skef" "Skeffy" Skeffington, a 40 year resident of Everett and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 64 years of age.

Eddie was born in Boston on January 18, 1959, a son of the late Helen M. (McGrath) Fitzpatrick. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. Eddie has been a lifelong Truck Driver at the Chelsea Produce Market for the last 35 years and was recently working for Shapiro Produce for the last 7 years. In his quiet time, Eddie enjoyed spending quality time with his family and taking care of his loved ones which was very important to him in his life. Eddie was well known to mostly anyone who knew him for his poetic verse which he would quote "SPREAD THE LOVE".

Eddie is the devoted father of Edward Joseph Skeffington Jr. and his fiance Melissa Maragioglio and Cody Spencer Skeffington and Annemarie Fratalia. He is the loving Papa Skeff to Edward Joseph Skeffington III, and MacKenzie Spaulding Skeffington and Lilyana Skeffington. He is the beloved brother of Bobby Skeffington, Carol Skeffington, Jeff Rossi, Cathy Hennessey, Joe Hennessey, Tammy Denney and Danny Hennessey. He is also survived by his # 1 Godson Stephen Ridlon along with his many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by the mother of his "2 boys" Barbara Sullivan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Eddie's Funeral on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will take place at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. His visiting hours will be on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 3 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
