Obituary

Keith Zurek, 40, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 6, 2023, in Michigan. He was born on February 23, 1983, in Methuen, MA, the son of Diane Sullivan & Lawrence Zurek Jr. He attended Sanborn Regional High School and soon after he enlisted in the US Army.

Keith was a specialist CAV Scout with the 182. He was deployed to Kosovo from 2006-2007 where he completed the 13-mile Dancon road march in full gear and pack through mountain terrain. He was also presented with the German Marksmanship badge and many other awards and ribbons. Keith was resilient, compassionate, and had an enthusiastic sense of humor. He could easily start a conversation with anyone and have you in tears of laughter by the end. Keith would give you the clothes off his back without a question because that is how generous he was. He wore his heart on his sleeve and loved ferociously. Keith was a lover of all animals and would do anything for his dogs. He loved the beach, being outdoors, heavy metal concerts, any amusement ride, and eating the strangest things he could find. Those who know Keith know he had a larger-than-life personality. He was the presence you heard before you saw him and his voice did not just fill the entire room, you could hear him all the way down the street. Keith's memory will live on forever.

In addition to his parents, Keith is also survived by six siblings, Alyssa Collins, Cortney Collins, Christian Collins, Amanda Boutot, Kyle Boutot and Brian Boutot; his aunts and uncles, William and Sandra Norton with whom he had a special bond, Bill Zurek and Melissa Zurek; his grandfather & grandmother Lauralyn Zurek & Lawrence Zurek Sr, grandmother Judith Conley, as well as many cousins, extended family, numerous friends and his NEDEN house brotherhood.
