Lionel A. Picard, age 80, passed away on April 9, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born on November 21, 1942 in Holyoke, son of the late Lionel A. Picard and Blanche B. (Labreque) Picard. Lionel was the owner and operator of Inland Fishing and Marine Center for many years before he retired. He enjoyed trips to Maine, fishing, boating and camping. Lionel was an avid Boston sports fan but mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family who meant the world to him. He is survived by his loving wife Elaine G. (Fontaine) Picard of Chicopee; two sons, Michael Picard of Millbury and Matthew Picard and his wife Jamie of Chicopee; one daughter, Laurie Picard-Gherardi and her partner Edward of Chicopee; one sister, Marcella Hebert of Bernardston; four grandchildren, Samantha and her partner Gio, Spencer, Madalynn and Evan along with one great grandchild, Elijah and a beloved nephew, Lee Hebert. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM in St Anne’s Church, 30 College St, Chicopee followed by reception. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, www.Heart.org or to the Shriner's Hospitals New England, www.Shrinerschildrens.org.
