Obituary

SANFORD- Sheila May Marks age 70 passed away peacefully at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a fighter and fought her fight fearlessly until the end.
She was born on June 18, 1952, in Somerville Massachusetts, to Richard and Thelma Faber.
Sheila worked many jobs in her lifetime, but the ones she always told stories about were when she worked at the ice cream factory in Somerville and how she traveled and ran the game booths at the carnivals.
Sheila enjoyed fishing, cats, going to yard sales, scratch tickets and occasional trips to the casino with her sister where she would play the slot machines. She loved spending time with her family and was a big believer in family get-togethers for the holidays, that shaped her family into the close-knit family that they are today.
Sheila is predeceased by her parents, sisters Paula Razzaboni- Faber, Janice Faber, Susan Faber and her brother Thomas Faber. She is survived by her sister Marsha Faber and “Billy” Faber, whom she was very close to and enjoyed spending time with. Sheila is also the proud mother of two daughters, April Mckay and Heather Marks, and her two sons Richard and Ian Marks. She also leaves behind her son-in-law James Willey who always held a special place in her heart and was her best friend, and the “apples” of her eye and pride and joy her grandsons, Roger and Ethan Eckmann and Logan Bennett. There was not a day that went by that she didn’t say how proud she was of her grandsons.
Sheila was always thinking of and doing for her loved ones, even though she didn’t have two pennies to rub together she would always find a way to give you a dime if you needed it. She never let anyone go without and instilled that way of thinking into her children and grandchildren. The loss of Sheila, mom, sister, friend, and grandmother will be missed by many, and the hole she leaves in people's hearts will never be filled.
Per Sheila's request there will not be any services after her cremation, she wishes to return home and be surrounded by everyone she loved. The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the family towards her cremation costs, or donations made to Hospice of Southern Maine in honor of the wonderful services that she received from them in her time of need.
