Obituary

FALL RIVER… Dorothy “Dottie” A. (Benoit) Kulpa, 87, of Fall River passed away April 5, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
She was the loving wife of the late Alfred W. Kulpa.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Melba (Emmett) Benoit. She was born in Fall River, but moved after she married. Her husband’s military service took them to live in Greensboro, South Carolina and Plattsburg, NY until he left the military and they settled in Eatontown, NJ. Then after her husband passed away, she returned to Fall River to be near family.
While in New Jersey, she was a devoted member of the Eatontown Elks #2402 and Howell Elks #2515. She served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary for both locations for a short time.
Mrs. Kulpa has had many careers in her life. She started at the Fall River Knitting Mills and worked there until her marriage. When they moved to New Jersey, she worked for the Red Bank Register delivering papers to the carriers. Then her husband and her purchased Andy’s Soda Shop & luncheonette in Asbury Park. Upon returning to Fall River she was a cook at Kozy Nook in Westport and Paul’s in Fall River. Then she became a cook at the Fall River Nursing Home until her retirement. She loved to cook for family and friends.
Dottie loved her beloved New York Mets and in later years became a fan of Tom Brady. She was a huge fan of war movies. She enjoyed spending time at the Flint Senior Center with her friends. She especially loved spending time with grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Michael Kulpa and his companion Linda Moore of Waycross, GA, Richard Kulpa and his companion Valerie Schubert of Ocala, FL., Patricia Wright and her husband Brad of Aurora, CO, Lori Duggan and her husband Raymond of Berkley, MA; her brother, Raymond Benoit of Westport; her grandchildren: Vanessa, Alexandra, Kyle, Kelsie, Ian and Madisyn; her great grandson, Branden and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Theodore Benoit, Jr., Theresa Shawa, Robert Benoit , Carol Fielding, and Gary Benoit.
