Mrs. Susan Dolores (Frorillo) Melnik, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Alexander V. Melnik, passed away at the Winchester Hospital in Winchester on Thursday afternoon, April 6, 2023. She was 100 years old.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on March 2, 1923, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Ann (Coviello) Frorillo.
Susan was a wonderful cook and loved to clean her home. She also loved to host every holiday and made an elaborate feast for her loving family. Susan was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph Church in Medford and would always walk the mile from her home to attend. She also would visit CVS in Medford square to do her weekly shopping. Susan would help anyone in need, at any time. She loved to watch “Dancing with the Stars”. Susan also had an unsurpassed love for children. She will be dearly missed.
Susan is survived by her loving children; Maryann A. and her husband Richard M. Meehan of Weymouth and Alexander M. Melnik of North Reading, devoted sister; Dorothy Lewis of Newton, cherished grandsons; John and Ryan Meehan, dear great-grandchildren; Jack, Julia, Drew and Luke and many nieces and nephews. She was also the loving sister of the late Alexander “Sundee”, Margaret, Ralph, Michael, Francis, Gerard and Lucy.
Her Funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 10 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 4 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Interment will held in the Mt.
