Devin Nicole Griffin Lavender, 31, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, March 30, 2023, in Tifton, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Monday, April 10, 2023, at Ocilla United Methodist Church in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Jay Roberson and the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the sanctuary of the church.
Devin was born June 30, 1991, in Tifton, Georgia, to Sandy Griffin and Tonya Lynn Griffin. She was a 2009 graduate of Irwin County High School and was a Red Hots Competition cheerleader and a Mat Girl. Devin enjoyed competing in pageants and was Little Miss Georgia Sweet Potato and Miss Irwin County Teen. She also attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Her most remarkable qualities live on through her brightest joy, her son, Judd Lavender. She was a member of Ocilla United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Drew Lavender of Tifton; her son, Judd Cason Lavender; her mother, Tonya Lynn Griffin of Fitzgerald; her father, Sandy Griffin & Stacey of Ocilla; brothers: Reid Griffin & Andrew Brown of Macon, Cole Mixon of Ocilla, Cody Mixon & Chelsey of Ocilla and Jordan Breese of Americus; grandparents: Patricia Norris of Fitzgerald, Jimmy & Ann Thomas of Ocilla and Carol Breese of Mystic; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Myra Griffin and Arthur Griffin, Jr.
