SPRINGFIELD – Robert J. "Spunky" Paulmann, 62, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, April 2, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Bronxville, New York on January 15, 1961, a beloved son of the late Frederick H. and Cecilia (Donohue) Paulmann. He was raised in New Rochelle, New York, graduated from New Rochelle High School and had lived in New Rochelle for many years before moving to Springfield in 2000. He was employed as a Maintenance Man for the County of Westchester, New York. He enjoyed attending weekly Mass with his brother, John, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield. He leaves his five loving brothers and three loving sisters, Frederick Paulmann III of Stockbridge, John D. Paulmann of Westfield, Jim Paulmann of Las Vegas, NV, Thomas A.J. Paulmann of Richmond, VA, Frank Paulmann and his wife, JoAnn, of New Rochelle, NY, Mary Paulmann of New Rochelle, NY, Cecilia Kavanah and her husband, Kevin, of Great Barrington, and Catherine Paulmann of New Rochelle, NY; his many cherished nephews and nieces; and his many dear cousins, extended members of the Paulmann, McCarren and Donohue families and numerous friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two dear sisters in law, Marjorie Paulmann and Mary Margaret Paulmann. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. which will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Road, Westfield, MA 01085, (please meet directly at the Church). His Burial will be private at The Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
