Obituary

Teresa M. (Cenami) Provenzano of Weston and Brewster died June 5, 2006 at the Newton Wellesley Hospital. She was 88. Mrs. Provenzano was born on February 14, 1918 in Providence, RI and was the daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Zamborano) Cenami. She attended Rhode Island College and was a member of the graduating class of 1938. She was also the editor of the college’s newspaper. After she graduated, she became the Girls Director of the Federal Hill House in 1939 where she coached drama to children and adults. In 1943 she was the American Red Cross Recreational Director, stationed at Camp Edwards on Cape Cod.. She was involved in many volunteer capacities at Mt. Alvernia Academy and as a member of the Weston Garden Club and the Women’s Community League of Weston.

She is predeceased by her husband R. William Provenzano, M.D. She is lovingly survived by her children William F. Provenzano of Pittsburgh, PA, Andrea T. Provenzano of Worcester, Richard J. Provenzano, M.D. of Bennington, VT, Donna R. Beebe of Middletown, RI, Maria Celeste of Carmel, IN, Therese A. Provenzano, DMA, PhD, of Roslindale, James J. Provenzano of Los Angeles, CA and Robert A. Provenzano of Weston. She is also survived by her grandchildren David Provenzano, M.D., Donna Marie Doll, Matthew Provenzano, Ashleigh Provenzano, Emma Provenzano, Gunnery Sgt. William F. Smith IV, USMC, Captain Jonathan R. Smith, USMC, Captain Michael F. Smith, USMC, Robert Provenzano Jr., Carl R. Provenzano and Peyton M. Provenzano, and her great grandchildren Annabella R. Doll, SienaMarie R. Doll, Brooke E. Smith, Madison H. Smith and Eilish R. Smith. She also leaves many loving friends.

Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rte 16) WELLESLEY, on Friday at 10:00 AM. Her funeral mass will follow in St. Julia's Church, Weston Center at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Linwood Cemetery, Weston. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Teresa's memory to the Women's Community League of Weston Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 125, Weston, MA 02493.
