Obituary

Robert Emmett ‘Bob’ Ashe, 61, of Quincy, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at his home. He was born in Lowell on August 9, 1961 and was a son of the late Matthew Robert Ashe and the late Rita Jacqueline (Chartier) Ashe. He was raised and educated in Lowell, before he enlisted with the United States Marines, serving as a Corporal until his honorable discharge.

He made his home in Lowell before residing in Quincy. He loved baseball and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan as well as a diehard New England Sports fan of not only the Red Sox but of the Boston Bruins, the New England Patriots, and the Boston Celtics. In addition, he loved taking care of his plants.

Before his retirement, he worked as a surveyor for D.W. Wright Construction.

His survivors include his daughter, Jessica Mercier and her husband, Jason of Tiverton, RI; his siblings, Walter Brown and his wife, Charlene of Lowell, Cynthia Ashe of Nashua, NH, Patricia Ashe and her wife, Gale of Leominster; his brother in law, Roger Lemos of Plymouth, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, the late Mary Lemos, the late Matthew Robert Ashe Jr..

On Friday, April 14, 2023, all are welcome to attend his funeral mass and military honors at St. Michael Church, 12 6th Street, Lowell at 10 a.m.

His burial will take place privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne.
