Obituary

Kathryn LaVerna (Warren) Rodriguez, 59, was born on December 11th, 1963, in Yakima Washington to Marcia and Robert Warren. She passed away on March 22nd at Trio’s Hospital in Kennewick Washington surrounded by family.

Kathy was proceeded in death by her mother Marcia Simpson, her father Robert Warren, her brother Dennis Warren, her grandparents Mildred and Charlie Warren, her grandmother Thelma Walsworth, her grandfather Howard Simpson and her grandchild, our Angel Baby Mason.

Kathy grew up in the Yakima Valley and attended school in Mabton and Sunnyside. She worked various jobs over the years but her favorite while she was still in Sunnyside were at the Safari and The Dark Horse Inn.

In the early 2000’s Kathy relocated to Moses Lake where she attended Big Bend Community College and received her GED. She went on to work in a couple of tax offices and her DNA led her back to what she did best, cooking. She was a great cook and was best known for her incredible breakfasts.

Kathy’s door was always open, and blood was not a factor. Her heart was always full when surrounded by her loved ones. She would get so excited to meet the new babies in our family. She couldn’t wait for the arrival of her Granddaughter, Honii Kathryn, who is coming in June.

She was very upset about not being able to meet her Great Niece, Elenny Adelle, because she was in the hospital. She loved going all out on gifts for any new babies that were entering our family. She worked at creating these over-the-top diaper cakes, even if that meant spending her last dime! In the last few days of her life besides her family, her concern was her fur babies and getting her hands on a Diet Pepsi. Kathy loved listening and dancing around her house to Tejano Music. She loved her sleepovers with her grandchildren more than anything. She was well known to most as Nana. She held that title proudly.

She is survived by her husband Efren Rodriguez; Her daughter, Guadalupe Espino (Emilio Santacruz); daughter, Sandra Navarro (Homero Ruiz); son, Francisco Espino (Selena); son Sergio Henandez (Victoria); daughter, Jocelyn Hernandez (Bobby Solis); daughter Shelly Espino (Ammod Mason). Her grandchildren Zalika Navarro (Orbalindo Saragos), Dominick Hernandez, Arianna Ruiz, Jayleen Ruiz. Her sister, Teresa Murillo. Her brother Ed Hinojosa. Her Great Grandchildren; Zeleya and Sandra Espino, Ava, Naylah and Nyko Hernandez, Xavian Saragos Navarro, Camila and Santiago Solis. Her nephew Brian Warren. Niece Michelle Weatherby. Her niece Jessica Hernandez. Nephews Emilio Hinojosa (Dana) and Malcolm Hinojosa who she helped raise and thought of her more of a mother. Nephews Jason Murillo and Andrew Warren, along with numerous extended family members.

Kathy, we pray you are dancing in heaven with your mom and your brother, save a dance for us all!
