New Bedford – Charles Penn Jr, age 50, of New Bedford passed away on March 14, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Vernita (Barkley) Penn.
Charles was born in Boston, MA to Charles Penn Sr, and the late Brenda Johnson. He was a lifeguard instructor for many years at the Roxbury YMCA.
Charles is survived by his father Charles Penn Sr; his wife Vernita (Barkley) Penn; his children Chanmia Washington, Chan Washington, Pedro Mojica-Barklkey, Deja Mojica-Barkley, and Yazmyne Mojica-Barkley; as well as all his grandbabies, and many beloved brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Charles’ visiting hours will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA 02740.
