Obituary

Frederick William Perrin, or “Bill” as he was known by all, 84, of Margate, Florida, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in Margate after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Tabb) Perrin, with whom he would have shared 65 years of marriage together this coming May.

A son of the late Leslie Perrin and the late Beatrice Perrin, He was born in Malden and was raised and educated in that area. Shortly following his graduation from Malden Vocational High School Bill enlisted in the United State Air Force, serving his country for a period of 4 years before he was honorably discharged.

After his service, he worked as an industrial insulator for many years before his retirement. He worked all across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on countless projects and was a member of the Association of Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Local #6. Bill was always the life of the party and always had a smile on his face,

While raising his family in Tewksbury he coached in youth hockey, football and baseball for many years, and loved attending his children’s sporting events. Fred and Ruth dedicated their lives to raising children and were foster parents for over 30 years, fostering over 300 kids. Additionally, he was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. After his retirement Bill was a bartender at the Tewksbury DAV.

In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is lovingly missed by his children, Nancy Vadnais and her deceased husband, Garvin of Tewksbury, William Perrin and his wife, Denise of Lowell, Ronald Perrin and wife, Nancy of Raleigh, NC, and his deceased daughter, Holly Perrin of Tewksbury; his sister Jean Riley of Michigan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers the late Robert Perrin of Michigan, the late Gordon Perrin of Massachusetts, the late Ronald Perrin of Massachusetts, and the late Leslie Perrin of Florida.

On Monday, April 10, 2023 all are welcome to attend his calling hours and funeral service. Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA.

His funeral service, including military honors, will be held at 5 p.m. in the funeral home. A Mercy meal will be held at the Long Meadow Golf Club, 165 Havilah Street, Lowell, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial donations in his memory may be made to: American Legion Post 157, PO Box 4083, Margate, Florida, 33093.
