William "Bill" Timothy Payne, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 in Haverhill, Massachusetts at the age of 82.
Born on December 21, 1940, in Framingham, Massachusetts, Bill spent the majority of his life in Holliston, Massachusetts, where he was raised by his parents, Emory Payne and Pearl (Ames) Payne, who have both since passed. Bill had five siblings: Sally, Charles, John, Emory, and Albert. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife, Donna (Morel) Payne, who he married on August 16, 1991.
Bill is survived by his brother, Emory Payne, his two daughters, Chenoa (Laney) Torres and Melissa Laney, his granddaughters, Oliviana Laney and Amaris Torres, and his son-in-law, Miguel Torres.
In his early life, Bill had a passion for traveling and exploring the world. He visited numerous countries, including Europe, Australia, Africa, New Zealand, and Puerto Rico, where he met people from all walks of life and made lasting friendships.
Bill was also a talented motorcycle racer who never let injuries hold him back from his passion. He continued to remain active and enjoyed playing golf and fishing during the warmer months and participating in a bowling league during the colder months. He was a true sportsman and enjoyed competing with friends. At family gatherings, you could always find putting his quick wit to use in party games.
Bill was known for his kind heart, infectious smile, and adventurous spirit. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
