Obituary

WEBSTER - Robert W. Blood, Sr., 74, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, with his family by his side. His wife of 33 years, Lucille L. (Trahan) Blood passed away last year, and his son, Robert W. Blood, Jr., passed away in 2014.

He leaves his step-children, Heather Casey and her husband Mitch of Dennis, Nequel Germano and her husband Tony of Webster, Barre Yeagher and his wife Shayna of Woodinville, WA, and Nova Frank and her husband Damian of Bothell, WA; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Tagliamonti and her husband Joseph of Ogunquit, ME; and many nephews and nieces.

He was born in Worcester on February 28, 1949, son of William and Ida (Galli) Blood and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School in 1967. He earned an Associate’s Degree from the New England School of Accounting.

He lived in Dudley and then Webster for many years. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Shrewsbury and Auburn for over 30 years before retiring in 2015.

Bob enjoyed NASCAR and working on cars with his best friend and neighbor, Danny Fedler. He was a sports fan and especially enjoyed going to hockey games with his son, Bobby. He loved vacationing at Hampton Beach, and spending time with his friends at the East Main Cafe.

The family wishes to extend its sincere thanks to Care Central VNA & Hospice, who provided tremendous support and care over the past several months.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 24, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a Mass at 1:00 PM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Friday in the funeral home, prior to the Mass. Donations in his name may be made in lieu of flowers to The SHINE Initiative, 44 Portland Street, Worcester, MA 01608 (www.shineinitiative.org).
