Obituary

Stanley R. Sons, 77, of Prosser, died March 17, 2023 in Pasco.
He was born on May 18, 1945 in Moline, Illinois to Alfred and Flora (Lampley) Sons. Though born in the Midwest, the family quickly moved to Golden, Colorado where Stan completed school before enlisting in the Airforce. He served as US Air Force, Sgt, September 1964 to February 1967. After his military service, he became a long-time civil servant for the Internal Revenue Service. In between, Stan was a professional dabbler willing to try his hand at anything-printer, restaurateur, and even a preacher. He retired in 2011.
Stan married Peggy Conn on April 6, 1968 in Paradise, California. Stan and Peggy had a wanderlust that took them all over the American west, all the way from New Mexico to Washington and all the states in between. They have lived in Prosser/Lower Valley for ten years.
Hobbies included story writing and he was a lover of good mysteries, westerns and the occasional romance. He was a devotee of vintage movies, classic film and live theatre. Stan was a member of VFW Post 3207 Prosser and the Grandview Church of God.
He is survived by his much-loved wife, Peggy R. (Conn) of Prosser; son, David B. Sons of Vail, CO; daughters, Roberta D. Utley of Iola, KS and Rebecca F. Sons of Kennewick; and sisters, Phyllis Smith and Janice Zuschlag.
Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held on Friday, March 24th at 1:00 pm at the Prosser Cemetery. You may leave a message for the family at www.Prosserfuneralhome
