Maria Teresa (Pizzo) Lepore, 78, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Friday, March 17th, 2023. Born in Canicatitini Bagni, Sicily on November 22nd, 1944, she moved to Boston in 1961 where she met and married her husband Carmine, who preceded her in death in 1997. A talented hairdresser, she owned her own beauty salon in Medford and took great joy in helping people look and feel their best.
Maria was a kind-hearted, nurturing woman who was devoted to her family and friends. She was the cherished mother of Leo Lepore and his wife Beth of Winchester, MA, Tony Lepore and his wife Jennifer of Hubbardston, MA, and Nancy Chiuchiolo of Clearwater, Florida. A beloved Nonni to twelve grandchildren, she gave each of them their first haircuts and took joy in feeding them around her kitchen table. She will be dearly missed by Kayla, Caleb, Benjamin and his wife Rachel, Jamie, Joshua, Emma, Caitlin, Jason, Erica, Vincenzo, David, and Elisabeth. Maria’s family legacy will continue even further through her two great-granddaughters, Felicity and Arielle.
She is the third of five close-knit siblings, and Maria talked with or saw her sisters and brother every day. She leaves behind her sister Rosetta Baio and her husband Salvatore of Malden, MA, sister Enza Roselando and her husband Jim of Lynnfield, MA, brother Giuseppe Pizzo and his wife Michela of Canicattini Bagni, Sicily, and sister Cinzia Bellomia and her husband Alberto of Canicattini Bagni, Sicily.
Visitation will be Monday, March 20th from 4 pm through 7 pm in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford. A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Chapel is 59 Worthen Road, Lexington, MA on Tuesday, March 21st at 10:00 am with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, immediately following.
