Obituary

Marjorie I. (Jetter) Foley, passed away peacefully at home on Monday evening, March 13 with her two loving daughters at her bedside.

Marjorie was born on November 23, 1934 to the late Harry and Helen (Hildebrante) Jetter. She was raised in Quincy where she attended Quincy schools.

In her adult years she married her “one true love”, William (Bill) Foley of whom she went on to enjoy over 57 years of marriage, until his passing in June of 2015. Together Bill and Marge began building a family of 5 children in Brockton, later moving to Whitman in 1978. Their final home, they built in Rockland in 1997, where they enjoyed their golden years together until 2015. Marjorie remained in her Rockland home under the care of her daughter Annie until 2020 when she moved to Newbury, NH to live with her daughter Lynn and son-in-law David for her remaining years.

Marjorie truly enjoyed being near to her family on any occasion and she had a great fondness for flowers, gardening and crocheting. Marge also enjoyed a good shopping spree which often ended with her favorite dish of Eggplant Parm at the Olive Garden.

In her later years she also enjoyed several vacation trips with her husband and close friends. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bill, her son Jeffrey Foley and her brother Harry Jetter, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Lynn Lindh and her husband David of Newbury, NH, her son Ted Foley of Manchester, NH her daughter Annie Foley of Rockland and her son Christopher Foley of Abington. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Nicholas and Kerri Horte both of Rockland, Katie Lindh of Dover, NH and David Lindh, II of Newbury, NH, and her sister Sally Lustig of Jacksonville, NC as well as several nieces and nephews, and lastly her beloved “grand dogs” Daisy Mae, Emma Rose and Remington.

Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday March 21 at 11:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at 1:30 PM in the Massachusetts National cemetery, Bourne.
