Benjamin J. D’Agostino Jr. of Dedham and Plymouth formerly of South Boston, died June 5, 2006 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 81. Mr. D’Agostino was born in Boston in 1924 and was the son of the late Benjamin and Mary D’Agostino. He owned and operated D’Agostino Oil Company in South Boston for many years.
He was the beloved husband of Annette (Fiorenza) D’Agostino. He was the devoted father of Benjamin J. D’Agostino III and his fiancé Theresa Venuto of Walpole and Mary Ellen Gillespie and her husband William of Pittsford, VT. He his also survived by five grandchildren. He was the brother of Josephine Belmont and Anthony D’Agostino both of Dedham and the late Angie Mason, Esther Sferrazza and Anna Goodrich. He was the brother in law of Roland Sferrazza of Dedham.
His funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Friday at 8:00 AM. His funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Anne’s Church, Readville, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wed. from 7-9 PM and on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 M. Interment will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
