Rita M. Pelczarski, age 96, passed away at Mission Care (formerly Mt St Vincent) in Holyoke on Mar. 11, 2023. She was born in Chicopee on Apr. 6, 1926 to the late Gilbert and Odina (Chauvin) Benoit. Rita worked as a counter waitress for Woolworths Dept Store. Rita leaves her two loving daughters, Carol Tessier and her husband Henry of Westfield and Barbara Radziewicz and her husband James of Somers, CT; three grandchildren, Lisa Thompson and her husband Michael, Charlene Gioscia and her husband Anthony and Joseph Radziewicz and his wife Kim; and six great grandchildren, Giovanna, Alessandra, Julia, Emmeline, James, and Maxwell. She was predeceased by her Husband Carl Pelczarski and two sisters, Sr Mary Jane Benoit Presentation of Mary and Sally Marie Landeryou. The family would like to thank all the staff at Mission Care for all their care. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Mar 17, 2023 at 11:30 AM in St Stanislaus Basilica, 566 Front St., Chicopee, MA, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Chicopee. There are no calling hours. Rita will have Gregorian Masses said in her name at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA.
